Maceo Plex has released his remix of Empire of the Sun’s ‘DNA’ via Universal Music. The original track appeared on the Australian duo’s 2013 album ‘Ice on the Dune’ and has since reached 70 million global streams.

The remix follows a summer that included Ibiza appearances, Maceo Plex’s debut on Rekids, and his ‘The Plan’ release on Ellum Audio. The producer had also been road-testing the ‘DNA’ rework in his sets ahead of its official release.

Musically, ‘DNA (Maceo Plex Remix)’ builds around rolling drums, bass weight, vocal fragments, and synths before bringing the original vocal into the arrangement. The production shifts the track toward a deeper techno framework while retaining elements of the original.
