Charlotte de Witte has released ‘Azadi’, a three-track EP featuring the AI-generated singer NAVA. Out now via KNTXT, the project brings Farsi vocals into techno productions centered on themes of resistance, hope, and freedom.

All proceeds from the EP will go to Femena, an organization supporting women human rights defenders and feminist movements across the Middle East, North Africa, and Asia.

NAVA is an artificial intelligence character created by London-based artist Farbod Mehr, whose work draws on Iranian cultural heritage, art, and technology. Her visual identity incorporates classical Iranian art, while her music and lyrics reinterpret elements of Persian tradition.

According to de Witte, the collaboration began after a friend introduced her to NAVA‘s story and the message behind the project.

“A dear friend shared a story from NAVA, a product of artificial intelligence, created by a London-based artist of Iranian origin, Farbod Mehr. I was captivated by the message she was spreading: an expression of hope that sacrifice will lead to a better future. I reached out, and the result is three new original tracks. Where a voice is given to those who deserve to be heard,” says Charlotte de Witte.

The EP opens with ‘Azadi’, meaning freedom in Farsi. The title track combines driving percussion, acid textures, and melodic vocal passages from NAVA.

‘Omid’, meaning hope, introduces restless basslines, electronic stabs, and layered spoken vocals in Farsi. Closing track ‘Tales of the Desert’ takes a more spacious approach, incorporating melodic synthesizers, sustained chords, and intermittent acid elements.

Explaining the broader message of the release, de Witte says: “These tracks are, in their own way, a small act of resistance. A reminder that people who are silenced, displaced or oppressed still have stories to tell and that those stories deserve to be heard.”

Through the release, Charlotte de Witte and NAVA connect electronic production with a project aimed at supporting women’s rights and amplifying stories of resistance.
